Ingredients:
For the Chowmein:
- 8 ounces (225g) chowmein noodles, boiled according to package instructions
- 1/2 pound (225g) beef sirloin, thinly sliced
- 2 cups mixed vegetables (bell peppers, carrots, and cabbage), julienned
- 1 cup bean sprouts
- 4 green onions, sliced
- 3 cloves garlic, minced
- 2 tablespoons soy sauce
- 1 tablespoon oyster sauce
- 1 tablespoon dark soy sauce
- 1 teaspoon sugar
- 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
- 2 tablespoons vegetable oil
For the Dry Chilli Beef:
- 1/2 pound (225g) beef sirloin, thinly sliced
- 2 tablespoons soy sauce
- 1 tablespoon oyster sauce
- 1 tablespoon hoisin sauce
- 1 tablespoon rice vinegar
- 1 tablespoon cornstarch
- 1 teaspoon sugar
- 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
- 2 tablespoons vegetable oil
- 3-4 dried red chillies, chopped (adjust to taste)
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 tablespoon fresh ginger, grated
Instructions:
- Prepare the Dry Chilli Beef Marinade (Low Intensity):
- In a bowl, combine soy sauce, oyster sauce, hoisin sauce, rice vinegar, cornstarch, sugar, and black pepper.
- Add the thinly sliced beef to the marinade and let it marinate for at least 15 minutes.
- Stir-Fry Dry Chilli Beef (Medium-High Intensity):
- Heat 2 tablespoons of vegetable oil in a wok or large skillet over medium-high heat.
- Add the marinated beef slices and stir-fry until browned and cooked through.
- Remove the beef from the wok and set it aside.
- Prepare the Chowmein Sauce (Low Intensity):
- In a small bowl, mix soy sauce, oyster sauce, dark soy sauce, sugar, and black pepper to create the chowmein sauce.
- Stir-Fry Chowmein (Medium-High Intensity):
- In the same wok, add 2 more tablespoons of vegetable oil.
- Add minced garlic and stir-fry until fragrant.
- Add the julienned vegetables and bean sprouts. Stir-fry for 2-3 minutes until they are slightly tender but still crisp.
- Add the cooked chowmein noodles and the prepared chowmein sauce. Toss everything together until well combined.
- Stir in sliced green onions and remove the chowmein from the wok.
- Combine Dry Chilli Beef and Chowmein (Medium Intensity):
- In the wok, heat another tablespoon of vegetable oil.
- Add chopped dried red chillies, minced garlic, and grated ginger. Stir-fry for about 1 minute until fragrant.
- Add the cooked dry chilli beef back to the wok and toss until the beef is coated with the spicy sauce.
- Serve (Low Intensity):
- Arrange the spicy Dry Chilli Beef on top of the Chowmein.
- Garnish with additional sliced green onions if desired.
- Serve hot and enjoy your flavorful Beef Dry Chilli Chowmein! (Low Intensity)
